Symptoms

Symptoms include unsightly discolouration of the nail, thick nails that are brittle and hard to cut. Although a fungal nail infection can happen to anyone, they are more common with people over 55.

Causes

Causes of Fungal Nail Infections can be anything from sweaty and damp environments, Athletes Foot, sharing shoes with people who already have the infection or from underlying health issues such as diabetes or circulatory problems.

Treatment

Although lotions and tablets can be prescribed, they can be associated with side effects and often require lengthy treatment courses. At Feet4Life, we offer advanced laser therapy as a safe, non-invasive treatment option for fungal and damaged nails.

GenesisPlus™ Nd Laser Therapy

Our GenesisPlus™ Nd laser targets the fungal infection within the nail and nail bed. The laser light is absorbed by pigment in the fungi, which causes the pigment to heat and this kills or damages the fungal organism. This quick treatment is designed to create an environment that is less favourable for fungal organisms. Most patients find the procedure comfortable, describing only a brief warm sensation or small hot pinch which resolves quickly. Download our GenesisPlus information brochure here

Lunula Laser™

As part of our commitment to remaining at the forefront of podiatry technology, we also offer Lunula Laser™, an innovative non-thermal laser treatment. Lunula Laser works by stimulating circulation and supporting the body’s natural healing processes within the nail and nail bed. The treatment is completely painless, requires no downtime and is suitable for patients seeking a gentle approach to nail rejuvenation. Unlike traditional heat-based lasers, Lunula Laser is a cold laser treatment. Download our Lunula Laser information brochure here
